Happy Earth Day, n stuff.

Too bad its mid april, supposably spring, and it's been blizzarding outside for the past 2 days... it's not supposed to stop for another 3 days. This is stopping me from doing a lot of things, so I'm looking forward to a miserable week.

If i ever have a little girl i want to name her flower.

After searching for a few days I've finally dug up five talented artists in hiding. Well, wait no more, here they are.

Alejandro may not have a gallery stacked with pieces and pieces like those big-time photographers we see on Deviantart daily, but the amount of emotion goes beyond measurable. Each photograph seems to have it's own little story, whether staged or spontaneous. Definetly worth checking out if you're itching for some portraits filled with such inviting colours you want to be there right beside the model.

*Coltonnewell
Colton is an amazing painter, but not only that, a photographer with an imagination just about as limitless as his abstract pieces. Colour, black and white, sports, or portraits, you can find that all in his spectacular gallery. Deserving of all types of recognition, you will not be dissapointed.

~TheDissidentOne
Best desribed as "Gruesome, but strangely addicting," Aleksi's work will make you cringe, yet keep you staring. Currently working on a comic of his very own, this talented artist offers a spooky range of characters, creations, and even paintings. For those of you with a bizarre excitment for new and intruiging artists, Aleksi's gallery is where to be.

~Nujabes
Romain has an excellent talent of taking his own photographs, and combining them with his amazing portrait sketches. Not only are these collaberations fantastic, but his pure photography work is as well. If I were to pick one artist to inspire me for a day, Romain would surely be on the top of my list.

It's a crime that Aaron has not yet recieved the large amout of attention that he should be getting. It's hard to find words to acurately describe the amout of creativity found within his limited but fullfilled gallery. Before I go off on a long enough tangent about how much I think you should check out these pieces, here are some samples.

And an Honourable Mention
~beddaaa
A small but powerful gallery that is growing strong. Mohamed's use of dramatic lighting makes his photomanipulations worth a second glance. I don't normally sway towards this specific medium, but his recent work seems so alluring it was difficult to say no.

First Feature is up!

Journal

I've finally gotten up my very first journal/news feature! It only took a few days to gather these great artists, but the outcome was surely spectacular. If you haven't already make sure to check out the news feature and fav. it so these artists can get more recognition!

My spring break has been filled with a whole lot of boring. In terms of any new shoots coming up there are none. I have some ideas rolling around in my head I just need to talk to my 'models' about when they would like to do it. Aside from that, I really need to start painting again.

I had a strange dream last night that I started working at this art store Im planning on applying at. There was maybe one big shelf full of pencils and brushes n stuff and the rest of the store was stacks of bags, purses, and funny looking dresses. Clothing retail again! Aah what a nightmare! haha. Later on I found myself living in my old house and wanting to smoke pot but I couldnt find a solitary place to do it... I don't smoke pot, so this was a bit odd.

Subscription! Yay!

Journal

So I'm all YAY I have a subscription now. But that means now I have to hunt out the perfect layout for my journal. Knowing me I will be doing features ALL the time.
For now I'm going to be using this very simple layout, and a small feature will be coming very soon so it's not so naked.

For those of you who havent checked it out, my shoot last night turned out fairly well. Jessica and Julia were very cooperative, and didn't mind getting goopy paint dripped all over them. I'm very excited to do some more shoots in the near future.

I should be applying for a job tomorrow, I think, at an art store! how conveinient. And i'm currently working on a portrait drawing of a model. Not sure when I'll end up finishing it, but it's on the go.

marco? POLAROID!

Since I've been seeing so many fantastic polaroid shots here lately, and because of the soon to be ever-depleting supply of polaroids on the market due to discontinuation, i thought i'd stock up.
a hundred bucks! Way you go!
Well, i only spent about 65 dollars on polaroid film. The rest was creams and a digital photography magazine, but still.
So now i have 40 polaroids, all tucked in my drawer and ready to be made into art! (wow how lame do I sound?) So for those of you who actually pay attention to my art, or god-forbid my journals, be prepared for some good or bad polaroid shots in the near future.

But not too many too soon, I still am trying to think up masterpieces for my portfolio, mimick a shoot I saw on america's next top model, and keep up in three classes at school. I know it's not a huge plate of junk to handle... but its enough.
And I need a jobbbbbbb!!

Happy Easter!

I got journal feature'd!!
You can see it right here [link] if you're at all interested. All the artwork is so amazing I'm so glad to be able to have my piece in there too. :)

And in other news... I need to work work work! So I can get some more peices for my portfolio on the go! I know its still a year away... but for 24 pieces that's not a super lot of time. Wish me luck!
